Abstract: AIM:To assess the clinical effects of ablation of premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) in right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT) using a single catheter electrode. METHODS: Single catheter technique for radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFCA) was performed in 65 consecutive patients with severe symptomatic monomorphic PVCs originating within the RVOT. A 7-Fr, 4-mm-tip catheter was used for both mapping and ablation. Target sites were localized by pace mapping. Pace mapping demonstrated identical QRS complex configurations during pacing and during arrhythmia in at least 11 leads. RESULTS: Acute ablation success was achieved in 63/65 patients (96.9%). During the follow-up of (28±13) months, recurrence and reablation were done in three patients (4.6%). Two of these patients remained arrhythmia-free. Surgical time was (50±27) min, and fluoroscopy time was (8.1±3.8) min. No ablation-related complications occurred during the follow-up of 15-40 months. CONCLUSIONS: Single catheter technique is safe and effective for mapping and ablation of PVCs from RVOT.
