    Relationship between plasma level of Nε-(carboxymethyl) lysine and carotid intimal medial thickness in patients with type II diabetes

    • 摘要: 目的:探讨晚期糖基化终末产物Nε-羧甲基赖氨酸[Nepsilon-(carboxymethyl) lysine,CML]与Ⅱ型糖尿病患者颈动脉内中膜厚度(intimal-medial thickness,IMT)的相关性。方法: 采用酶联免疫测定72例糖尿病患者及24例正常对照者血浆CML的浓度,同时用彩色多普勒超声测定IMT。结果: 糖尿病组血浆CML浓度高于正常对照组;糖尿病组IMT高于正常对照组,且与血浆CML浓度呈正相关。多因素回归分析显示,在控制年龄、血脂及血压等因素后CML水平与IMT仍有相关性。结论: 糖尿病患者血浆CML浓度显著升高,且与IMT独立相关。

       

      Abstract: AIM:To explore the relationship between the plasma level of Nε-(carboxymethyl) lysine (CML) and carotid intimal medial thickness (IMT) in patients with type II diabetes (T2D). METHODS: Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to measure plasma CML in 72 patients with T2D and 24 age- and gender-matched healthy controls. Carotid IMT was tested by ultrasound. RESULTS: Compared with healthy controls, plasma CML level significantly increased (P<0.05) in T2D patients. Patients with T2D had much higher values of carotid IMT than controls and IMT was positively correlated with CML. Multiple regression analysis indicated that the plasma CML level was an independent contributor to carotid IMT after adjusting by age, lipid level and blood pressure. CONCLUSION: Plasma CML level is highly correlated to carotid IMT in patients with diabetes, suggesting the potential predictive value of CML in diagnosis and treatment of atherosclerosis.
