    Advances in animal models of atherosclerosis

    • 摘要: 动脉粥样硬化(AS)作为一种慢性炎症性疾病,已成为冠心病的主要病理生理学基础。目前,为进一步探讨其发病机制、病理变化以及制定防治策略,多种方法已广泛应用于AS模型的建立。本文以AS发病机制为线索,总结AS模型建立的方法及其优缺点,旨在寻找一种理想的动物模型,为AS的研究提供新的思路。

       

      Abstract: Atherosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory disorder, which has been the major pathophysiological basis of coronary heart disease. Different methods have been widely used to establish animal models of atherosclerosis in order to explore its pathogenesis, pathological changes, and develop prevention and treatment strategies. This manuscript summarizes establishment of animal models as well as their advantages and limitations in terms of mechanism of atherosclerosis, focusing on discovering one ideal animal model to provide new insights in the study of atherosclerosis.
