    Research progress of m6A RNA methylation in myocardial ischemia reperfusion and myocardial regeneration

    • 摘要: N6-甲基腺嘌呤(N6-methyladenosine, m6A)RNA甲基化是最常见的、动态的、可逆的表观遗传RNA修饰,参与了包括心血管疾病在内的多种人类疾病的发病机制。最近的研究表明,m6A RNA甲基化在心肌缺血再灌注及心脏再生中发挥重要调控作用。重要的是,这些新发现表明,通过改变m6A的调节因子来控制m6A的水平,可能是防止心脏功能恶化促进心脏修复的一种新颖而有力的策略。

       

      Abstract: N6-methyladenosine (m6A) RNA methylation is the most common, dynamic and reversible epigenetic RNA modification and is involved in the pathogenesis of many human diseases, including cardiovascular diseases. Recent studies have shown that m6A RNA methylation plays an important regulatory role in myocardial ischemia-reperfusion and cardiac regeneration. Importantly, these new findings suggest that controlling m6A levels by altering the regulatory factors of m6A may be a novel and powerful strategy to prevent the deterioration of cardiac functions and promote cardiac repair.
