Abstract:
AIM:To analyze the relationship between serum uric acid and metabolic syndrome in high altitude areas. METHODS: One hundred and eightyeight patients were divided into two groups: normal group and high uric acid group, and lipids, blood sugar, hypertension, insulin and Creactive protein were detected in all the cases. Independent samples Ttest was used to compare the results of the two groups. RESULTS: Marked differences were observed in lipids, blood sugar, hypertension, insulin and Creactive protein between the two groups. Obvious statistical significance was found between serum uric acid and metabolic syndrome. CONCLUSION: Serum uric acid is closely related to metabolic syndrome in plateau areas. The risk of metabolic syndrome is high in patients with high uric acid.
