Abstract:
AIM: To investigate the correlation of augmentation index, blood lipid, blood glucose and age. METHODS: Augmentation index, blood lipid and blood glucose were examined in 630 healthy resident subjects >18 years of age [triglyceride (TG) 1.7 mmol/L and total cholesterol (TC) 5.7 mmol/L, fasting blood glucose (FBG) <6.1 mmol/L and 2 h postglucose (PG)<7.8 mmol/L, systolic blood pressure (SBP) 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) 90 mmHg] from the Daxing District, Beijing in 2007. RESULTS: Multi-element gradual regressive analysis showed that the augmentation index correlated with FBG (typical coefficient=0.065), TC(typical coefficient=0.09) and age (typical coefficient=0.029)(P=0.000). CONCLUSION: Augmentation index is correlated with blood lipid, blood glucose and age.
