Abstract: China’s unique biodegradable patent foramen ovale occluder has been clinically applied in more than 5,000 cases. Compared with the nitinol occluder widely used in clinical practice, the biodegradable patent foramen ovale occluder has obvious differences in material properties, surgical operation and intraoperative treatment strategies. This article systematically introduces the characteristics, standardized operation procedures and techniques of biodegradable patent foramen ovale occluder, as well as the treatment of complications. It aims to standardize diagnosis and treatment and ensure the safety of the clinical application of biodegradable patent foramen ovale occluder.
