Abstract:
At present, the incidence of cardiovascular disease in China is still high and its inflection point has not yet arrived, for which non-traditional risk factors closely associated with cardiovascular disease are receiving more and more attention. As an important endocrine gland, the thyroid gland secretes hormones that are of great significance to cardiovascular health. Hypothyroidism is a common metabolic disease. In recent years, studies have found a close relationship between hypothyroidism and cardiovascular diseases. In addition, hypothyroidism has an insidious onset and a low early diagnosis rate, which often leads to the development of cardiovascular disease in the early asymptomatic stage. In view of this, in order to explore the relationship between hypothyroidism and cardiovascular diseases, this article reviews the genomic and non-genomic effects of thyroid hormones on the cardiovascular system, describes the close relationship between thyroid stimulating hormone and lipid metabolism and illustrates the mechanisms by which hypothyroidism influences the occurrence and development of coronary artery disease, arrhythmia and heart failure.
