Role of T cells in myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury

Abstract: Myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury is one of the complications in the treatment of myocardial infarction. Inflammatory responses caused by innate immune cells such as neutrophils and macrophages are important reasons for myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury. The role of many kinds of immune cells in myocardial reperfusion injury has become a hot research topic. In recent years, more and more studies have demonstrated that adaptive immune cells, especially T cells, play an important role in myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury. This article reviews the research on the role and mechanism of T cells involved in myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury and analyzes existing problems and future directions.
