Abstract
Tea polyphenols and their main biologically active components have many beneficial effects on cardiovascular disease such as anti-oxidation, anti-atherosclerosis, decreased blood pressure, lowered blood lipids and cardioprotection. The beneficial effects of tea polyphenols in cardiovascular diseases have been confirmed in many clinical studies. For reasons of increased safety and decreasing side effects, tea polyphenols have wider application in both clinical treatment and daily life. Tea polyphenols have provided a new approach for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
