Abstract
AIM:To investigate the lead selection of the T peak-T end interval (Tpe) in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). METHODS: Two hundred and thirty-two AMI patients and 200 normal control subjects were enrolled. The standard 12-lead electrocardiogram was recorded in all subjects to determine the optimal lead for Tpe measurement. RESULTS: The Tpe value in V2 lead was the greatest in AMI patients compared with those of other leads (P<0.05). The Tpe in V2 lead in control group was greater than those of other leads (P<0.05) except for V3 lead. The Tpe values of all leads in AMI group were greater than those of corresponding leads in control group (112.78 ms vs. 87.36 ms, P<0.05). CONCLUSION: V2 may be selected as the optimal lead to reflect the maximal Tpe.
