Abstract
Kruppellike factor 2 (KLF2) is a member of the 17 zincfinger family of transcription factors. In recent years, research on KLF2 in the cardiovascular system is increasing. KLF2 plays some important roles such as antiinflammation, proliferation and antioxidant action. Atherosclerosis (AS) is a continuous, multifactorial process and is the result of the coaction of various factors. The hypoxic environment is different from the normoxic environment in accordance with stability of atheromatous plaques, participation of inflammatory factors and regulation of the action of factors on AS. This paper summarizes research on the antiAS action of KLF and its mechanism during recent years.
