    Hypertension and primary open-angle glaucoma

    • Hypertension causes target organ damage and a variety of heart, brain, kidney and eye diseases, resulting in patient disability and death. Primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) is a common blinding disease and it has been gradually recognized that high blood pressure is an independent risk factor for the occurrence and development of POAG. This paper mainly reviews the pathogenesis of hypertension-related POAG and some anti-hypertension strategies for hypertension patients so as to prevent hypertension-related POAG.
