Relationship between red blood cell distribution width and coronary artery disease

Red blood cell distribution width (RDW) is correlated with inflammation, instability and severity of coronary heart disease (CHD). RDW may predict the prognosis of CHD. Measurement of RDW is a simple and inexpensive method that may facilitate the assessment of stratification in patients with CHD.
