Abstract
AIM:To study the value of intraaortic balloon pumping (IABP) combined with extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in the postoperative heart surgery treatment of critical patients. METHODS: Clinical data of 14 patients were analyzed and the parameters including systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), blood gas, creatine and urea nitrogen were compared before and after the combined treatment of IABP and ECMO. RESULTS: Parameters related to hemodynamics and blood gas improved significantly after the combined treatment of IABP and ECMO in all patients (P<005). CONCLUSION: Combination of IABP and ECMO improves the treatment of critical patients after heart surgery.
