Abstract
AIM To investigate the effect of inositol polyphosphate-5-phosphatase F (Inpp5f) on angiotensin II-induced cardiomyocyte hypertrophy. METHODS Cardiomyocyte hypertrophy was induced by angiotensin II (1×10-7 mol/L) in H9c2 cells. Expressions of Myh7, Myh6 and Inpp5f were detected by Western blot and real-time PCR. An Inpp5f overexpression vector was successfully constructed and transfected into H9c2 cells. Transcripts for Myh6 and Myh7 were detected by real-time PCR. RESULTS mRNA and protein levels of Inpp5f significantly decreased in the hypertrophy group. Overexpression of Inpp5f reversed the angiotensin II-induced increase in mRNA expression level of Myh7 and decrease in mRNA expression level of Myh6. CONCLUSION Overexpression of Inpp5f attenuates angiotensin II-induced hypertrophy of H9c2 cardiomyocytes.
