Tissue mitral annular displacement in evaluating intraventricular synchronization in patients with chronic heart failure

    • AIM:To explore the value of tissue mitral annular displacement (TMAD) in assessment of left ventricular synchronization in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF). METHODS: Thirtythree patients with CHF and 25 healthy volunteers were enrolled in this study. Tmsv16SD of left ventricle and the time of mitral annular displacement to peak were measured using the QLAB81 software at six sites (anteroseptal, posteroseptal, anterior, lateral, posterior and inferior). Standard deviation of the time to peak was calculated. Tmsv16SD and TPSD of the two groups were compared and the correlation between Tmsv16SD and TPSD was analyzed. RESULTS: Compared with those in control group, TPSD and Tmsv16SD in CHF group significantly increased (P<005) and Tmsv16SD and TPSD was positively correlated. CONCLUSION: TMAD is a new method for the assessment of left ventricular synchronization in patients with CHF.
