Pathogenesis and treatment of calcific aortic valve stenosis

    • Aortic stenosis is clinically more common valvular heart disease, and the main cause is aortic valve calcification. With the increase in aging of the population, calcific aortic valve disease incidence also increased continuously. Therefore, during the past 20 years, calcific aortic valve stenosis has been considered as a degenerative disease, but with research progress in recent years, a large amount of evidence indicates that calcific aortic valve disease is an active disease process similar to that of atherosclerosis with the same risk factors and pathophysiological features. This paper summarizes the main research on the progression of the pathogenesis of calcific aortic valve disease and treatment in recent years.
