Kappa opioid receptor and functional regulation of pancreatic islets

Recent studies have shown that kappa opioid receptors may play an important role in improving the functions of α cells; however, results in regard to β cells are still conflicting. We conducted a review of relevant studies concerning the relationship between kappa opioid receptors and β cells.
