Role of miRNAs in cardiac hypertrophy

    • Cardiac hypertrophy is an adaptive response to pressure overload damage, which produces initial energy compensatory increase in cardiac output, but sustained cardiac hypertrophy will eventually lead to heart failure and even death. In recent years, numerous studies have found small non-coding RNAs (microRNAs/miRNAs) regulate the level of expression in post-transcriptional related proteins involved in cardiac hypertrophy series of pathophysiological processes. This article reviews a series of miRNAs associated with cardiac hypertrophy.
