Abstract
In recent years, endovascular aortic repair technique has made great progress in the treatment of aortic aneurysm and has been proven to be effective in the treatment of true aneurysm, pseudoaneurysm and aortic dissection. However, the covered stent graft has the limitation of occluding important branch vessels and needing preestablishment of blood flow. To reduce these complications, a new type of endovascular stent graftmultilayer aneurysm repair system (MARS) was invented, which has the benefit of effectively excluding the aneurysm while preserving collateral circulation and branch patency. MARS has now been successfully used in the treatment of peripheral aneurysm and is currently being introduced into treatment of aortic aneurysms. We believe that MARS may be a future breakthrough in the treatment of aortic aneurysm.
