Application of combined teaching method of problem-based learning and typical cases in teaching hypertension

    • Traditional teaching methods focus on imparting knowledge to students but overlook the cultivation of students practical ability, resulting in the separation of knowledge and clinical practice. The method of problem-based learning (PBL) is student-centered and emphasizes the students ability to solve problems. Under the guidance of tutors, students can study independently or collaboratively, exploring the knowledge behind the questions. Hypertension is a chronic disease with long courses and many complications along with many involved knowledge points along the course of its study. Combined teaching methods using PBL and typical cases can stimulate students learning initiative, help them to systematically acquire knowledge about hypertension and enhance their ability to solve problems.
