Abstract
AIM: To investigate the protective effect of nimodipine and breviscapus on alcohol-induced myocardial injury. METHODS: Seventy-two Wistar rats were randomly divided according to the alcohol dose and protective medicine administered. Blood was collected dynamically before and after alcohol administration to detect CK-MB, cTnI, MDA and GSH-Px in serum, and myocardium tissue was obtained 14 days after alcohol administration to examine the content changes of MDA and GSH-Px in myocardium homogenate. RESULTS: Contents of CK-MB, cTnI and MDA in each subgroups of protective medicine were lower than those in alcohol-administered subgroups, and GSH-Px increased significantly (P<0.05). In subgroups of protective medicine, MDA content in myocardium homogenate was lower than in alcohol-administered subgroups (P<0.01). CONCLUSIONS: Nimodipine and breviscapus exert some protective effect on alcohol-induced myocardial injury.
