Abstract
AIM: To evaluate the feasibility and safety of transbrachial percutaneous coronary artery intervention (PCI). METHODS: Forty cases with failed transradial PCI were selected and changed to transbrachial PCI (TBI) and 40 cases with successful transradial PCI (TRI) at the same period were selected as control group. Catheter selection and maneuver skill of TBI were the same as those of TRI. RESULTS: All 40 cases of TBI were successful. No statistical difference in operation time, contrast dose, stent number, local and system complication and short-term result was found between groups. CONCLUSION: Transbrachial PCI is a feasible and safe procedure that can be widely used clinically.
