Protective effects of danhong injection on early coagulation after cardiopulmonary resuscitation

    • AIM To investigate the protective effects of danhong injection on coagulation after cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). METHODSAfter cardiopulmonary resuscitation, 72 patients were randomly divided into danhong injection treatment group (n=37) and resuscitation group (n=35), and 30 healthy subjects served as control group. Routine treatment was adopted for all patients. In the treatment group, danhong injection was added in addition to the routine treatment. Coagulation was examined in all three groups and APACHE II scores were evaluated in the treatment group and resuscitation group. RESULTSCoagulopathy was demonstrated in both treatment group and resuscitation group. After treatment, prothrombin time (PT), thrombin time (TT), fibrin (FIB), mean platelet volume (MPV) and APACHE II score were all significantly lower, and platelet (PLT) count was higher in treatment group compared with PLT count in treatment group before treatment and those in resuscitation group after treatment (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONDanhong injection can effectively reduce coagulopathy and improve clinical outcomes.
