Abstract
AIM: To study the characteristics of abnormal minnesota codes of electrocardiogram in patients with type II diabetes. METHODS: We investigated the minnesota codes of sex, age, duration, blood pressure, and electrocardiogram in 1466 patients with type II diabetes. RESULTS: The abnormal minnesota codes of electrocardiogram in patients with type II diabetes were significantly more increased than those in subjects without type II diabetes (P<0.01), and the abnormal incidence in both groups was 28% and 14.6%, respectively. The abnormal single codes of every item had the similar tendency as above in patients with or without diabetes (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: The abnormality of electrocardiogram minnesota codes in patients with type II diabetes is higher than those in subjects without diabetes. The incidence of abnormal minnesota codes becomes higher with increased ages.
