Systematic review on randomized controlled trials for qi-supplementing and blood-quickening treatment of angina pectoris due to qi-deficiency and blood stasis

    • AIM To evaluate the curative effect and safety of qi-supplementing and blood-quickening on angina pectoris due to qi-deficiency and blood stasis. METHODS Two authors collected data and evaluated the quality of the included data independently. The data were quantified by meta-analysis to review the adverse drug reactions. RESULTS ①Test of the combined curative effect of 30 studies showed an OR affiliate of 3.6, 95% and the confidence interval of OR was [2.84, 4.56], P<0.01. The result of meta-analysis was statistically significant; ②Test of the combined curative effect based on the cardiograms in 25 articles showed an OR affiliate of 2.49, 95% and the confidence interval of OR was [2.05, 3.02], P<0.01; ③In 3 articles, some patients were reported to have adverse reactions such as gastrointestinal tract disorder and headache, in which 1 patient was included in the qi-supplementing and blood-quickening group (2.08%), while 8 patients were included in the control group (5.56%); ④By examining the results of blood, urine and excrement tests as well as liver and renal functions before and after the trial, 12 articles reported no significant changes. CONCLUSION The evidence obtained indicates that qi-supplementing and blood-quickening can improve curative effect and decrease adverse reactions.
