Abstract
AIM To investigate the effect of qidantongmai tablet(QDTMT)on NF-κB in the rat model of ischemia reperfusion-mediated myocardial injury (RMMI). METHODS Forty-eight male SD rats were randomly divided into six experimental groups: sham operation group, control group, low dose QDTMT(0.36 g/kg) group, medium dose QDTMT(1.08 g/kg) group, high dose QDTMT(3.24 g/kg) group and diltiazem hydrochloride(5 mg/kg) group. Different dosage of drug or saline at the same volume was administered to the animals once a day for seven days before operation. The model was established by ligating the coronary artery. Tissues in the reperfused region were sampled immediately and the protein levels of NF-κB were determined by Western bolt and immunohistochemical staining. RESULTS Compared with that in the sham operation group, the expression of NF-κB in the control group was obvious and the level of total NF-κB increased. Compared with that of control group, the expression of NF-κB was not obvious and the level of total NF-κB decreased in different QDTMT dosage groups as well as the diltiazem hydrochloride group. CONCLUSION QDTMT has some cardioprotective effect against RMMI in rats possibly by inhibiting the expression of NF-κB.
