Abstract
Cardiovascular disease is the most hazardous to human health. Pathologically activated platelets play an important role in the pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases. microRNAs are a class of small RNAs playing a role in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expressions and are involved in the development of many diseases. Many microRNAs are closely associated with cardiovascular disease. Studies have shown that platelets are rich in microRNAs and the role of platelet-derived microRNAs in cardiovascular disease is reviewed in this paper.
