Clinical study of aspirin and urokinase plus high-dose clopidogrel in patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction

    • AIM:To investigate the therapeutic effect of aspirin and urokinase plus high-dose clopidogrel in treating patients with acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction. METHODS: A total of 70 inpatients were randomized into two groups: treatment group and control group. Patients in control group received routine treatment of aspirin and urokinase and patients in treatment group were given conventional treatment plus high-dose clopidogrel. The patients in both groups were treated for 1 week and the efficacy and safety were compared. RESULTS: Significant differences were found in the two groups. Short-term efficacy in the treatment group was higher than in the control group (P<0.05). No significant difference in the rate of hemorrhage was observed between groups. CONCLUSION: Administration of aspirin and urokinase plus high-dose clopidogrel can significantly reduce the mortality rate and major cardiovascular events in patients with acute myocardial infarction with ST-elevation.
