Abstract
Angiogenesis and vascular maturation require a complicated biological process through the interactions between vascular endothelial cells and mural cells. The process is affected by many types of cell factors. Recent studies have found that angiopoietin is a system that has a close relationship with neovascularization and vascular maturation. The system includes four members, namely, Ang1, Ang2, Ang3 and Ang4, and their common receptor with specificity is Tie2. Ang and its receptor Tie 2 system are two significant factors in regulating the integrity of vessels in the process of physiological and pathological generation of vessels. Ang and Tie2 system play an important role in the formation of pathological vessels such as in the process of vasoganglion growth, recirculation after ischemia, tumor and retinopathy.
