Research advances in relationship between monocyte/HDL-C ratio and coronary heart disease

    • In recent years, the incidence and mortality of coronary heart disease has increased gradually. Atherosclerosis is the main cause of coronary heart disease. The basic pathogenesis of atherosclerosis is inflammation and monocytes, which play a key role in inflammatory response. HDL-C has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antithrombotic effect. Signficant research in short-term and long-term adverse events has been completed on the monocyte/HDL ratio, which is a new inflammation index and is convenient and easy to measure in the prediction of coronary heart disease.
