Correlation between plasma thrombomodulin and coronary slow flow

    • AIM To investigate the correlation between plasma thrombomodulin (TM) and coronary slow flow (CSF). METHODS Retrospective analysis was performed in 184 suspected angina pectoris patients without obvious coronary artery stenosis by coronary angiography. The patients were divided into a CSF group or normal flow group according to CSF occurrence or not. Clinical data including SBP, DBP, blood glucose, and lipids were collected. Corrected TIMI frame count (CTFC), which indicates occurrence of CSF was recorded. Levels of plasma TM were determined. The results were analyzed to determine if there is correlation between CSF and other indicators. RESULTS Single factor analysis revealed that there were significant difference between SBP, plasma TM, and CTFC in the two groups (all P<0.01). Unconditional multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that plasma TM was an independent relative factor for CSF (P<0.05). Spearman rank correlations analysis showed that there was a positive correlation between plasma TM and CTFC (r=0.86, P<0.05). CONCLUSION There is a positive correlation between plasma TM and CTFC, and plasma TM is an independent relative factor for CSF.
