    Progress in renal artery stenosis caused by Takayasu arteritis

    • Takayasu arteritis (TA) is a rare, idiopathic and chronic inflammatory vasculitis. The disease mainly involves renal artery, leading to stenosis and to occlusion of renal arteries, which result in severe hypertension, heart and/orrenal failure. The diagnosis and treatment of renal stenosis caused by Takayasu arteritis is still under debate. This article mainly reviews the advances of diagnosis and treatment in renal artery stenosis caused by Takayasu arteritis.
