The role of nQRS in lateral leads to predict the response after cardiac resynchronization therapy

    • AIM To assess the association between nQRS in lateral leads and response to cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT). METHODS 41 heart failure patients after CRT were divided into responder (n=28) and non-responder (n=13), The differences were analyzed in baseline data between the two groups (single factor analysis), and then a multiple factor logistic regression analysis was utilized. RESULTS There were 41 patients selected, 28 patients were male with an average age of 59 years. After univariate analysis, nQRS in lateral leads were seen in 19 (68%) patients in the responder group compared with only 4 (31%) patients in the non-responder group (P<0.05). QRSd of the responder group was wider than the non-responder group (P<0.05). nQRS in the lateral leads before CRTOR=4.750, 95%CI(1.148, 19.650), P<0.05 was significant according to logistic regression analysis. CONCLUSION nQRS in the lateral leads was observed to be an important correlative factor for response to CRT.
