Reflections on cardiovascular course based on “organ centered”integration in medical curriculum

    • In recent years, reform of “organ centered”basic medical course integration for the 8-year medical program was carried out in our university. This mode not only strengthens the horizontal linkages between different subjects and avoids repetition of teaching content, but also cultivates clinical thinking and independent learning ability in students as a whole. The structure and function of the cardiovascular system are very complicated and difficult but they are one of the most important subjects in the medical curriculum. In this paper we used the cardiovascular system as an example to introduce some of our practice in the basic medical course integration in this reform.
