Research progress of miRNA and myocardial infarction

Myocardial infarction( MI) is a leading cause of death among all cardiovascular diseases.miRNA is a class of non-coding small RNA. Research confirms that miRNA expression becomes abnormal after MI and miRNA posttranscriptionally controls gene expression. Recent research has unveiled an important impact of miRNA on the pathophysiology of MI and its complications. Determination of miRNA expression levels therefore offers a potential diagnostic value and therapeutic target.
