    Application of real-time three-dimensional echocardiography in evaluating tricuspid valve diseases

    • AIM:To assess real-time three-dimensional echocardiography(RT-3DE) in the diagnosis of tricuspid valve prolapse and to compare RT-3DE with two-dimensional echocardiography(2DE).METHODS:We retrospectively studied the ultrasound examination of 24 patients with tricuspid valve prolapse confirmed by surgery from March 2009 to May 2011.RESULTS:Compared with 2DE,real-time 3DE better displayed tricuspid valve prolapse and clearly located the position of lesions.CONCLUSION:RT-3DE is reliable and valuable in the diagnosis of tricuspid prolapse.
