Exploring practice of “1+1+N” course assessment reform under guidance of “Four Natures and One Degree”

    • AIM To explore the course assessment and evaluation system in aerospace medicine, put forward a practical case of course assessment reform and provide reference for the course assessment and evaluation system of aerospace medicine.
METHODS We took the five-year-program aerospace medicine students of Air Force Medical University of 2017-2021 as the research subjects to explore the course assessment reform in aerospace biodynamics teaching. The control group adopted the routine teaching mode of theory and practical operation and the experimental group added five aspects of formative assessment (learning performance, written assignments, case discussion, scientific research design and hygiene promotion) based on the routine teaching mode. At the end of the course, the assessment effect of the course was evaluated by questionnaires and grade analysis.
RESULTS Participants are generally more satisfied with the teaching effect of this course. Compared with scores of the control group, the test scores of the experimental group increased significantly (P<0.05). The students in the experimental group had a better feeling of active participants and showed a higher interest in learning the course content, and their communication skills and their thinking expanding capacity had been better improved (P<0.01).
CONCLUSION The practical implementation of the “1+1+N” course assessment reform under the guidance of “Four Natures and One Degree” is effective and has the value of further research and promotion.
