AIM To observe the therapeutic effect of Bushen Huoxue Compound combined with nitroglycerin on chronic heart failure (CHF) and its impact on serum inflammatory factors and vascular endothelial function.
METHODS A total of 125 CHF patients admitted to our hospital from July 2021 to June 2023 were divided into treatment group (n=63) and control group (n=62). The control group was treated with intravenous nitroglycerin injection and the treatment group was treated with Bushen Huoxue Compound on the basis of the treatment of the control group. Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), left ventricular end diastolic diameter (LVEDD), brain natriuretic peptide (BNP), soluble tumor suppressor protein (sST2), interleukin-6 (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), nitric oxide (NO), vascular endothelial factor (VEGF) and endothelin (ET-1) levels were observed and compared before and after treatment in both groups. The clinical efficacy and side reaction rates of the two groups after treatment were analyzed.
RESULTS There were no significant differences in the levels of LVEF, LVEDD, BNP, sST2, IL-6 and TNF-α between the two groups before treatment. After treatment, LVEF and NO were higher (P<0.01) and LVEDD, BNP, sST2, IL-6, TNF-α, VEGF and ET-1 were lower in both groups compared with those before treatment, and the treatment group was superior to the control group (all P<0.01). The clinical efficacy of the treatment group (95%) was higher than that of the control group (81%) (P<0.05).
CONCLUSION The combination of Bushen Huoxue Compound combined with nitroglycerin improve cardiac function, inflammatory factor levels and vascular endothelial function in CHF patients and achieve better therapeutic efficacy.
