Research progress on the correlation between SIRT1/AMPK signaling pathway and atherosclerosis

In recent years the mortality rate caused by Atherosclerosis (AS) has increased rapidly, which has seriously impaired people’s health. In this paper, oxidative stress, autophagy, apoptosis and the relationship between SIRT1/AMPK signaling pathway are discussed in the prevention of atherosclerosis, and the role of resveratrol, curcumin and ginsenoside in regulating SIRT1/AMPK pathway in AS is discussed, providing new therapeutic ideas for the development and prevention of the disease.
