Research status of visfatin in cardiovascular disease

    • Adipose tissue is the energy storage place of the body. Recent studies have found that adipose tissue is also a large endocrine gland, which can be involved in regulating a variety of biological functions by secreting adiponectin, leptin and adiponectin. Visfatin, a novel adipokine secreted by white adipose tissue, acts as a multifunctional protein, which is closely related to the development of cardiovascular diseases, participating in such pathophysiological processes as inflammatory response, endothelial dysfunction and vascular remodeling. In recent years, adiponectin and cardiovascular disease have gradually become a hot spot. This article will review the physiological characteristics of internal adiponectin and its relationship with cardiovascular disease, so as to provide new ideas for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
