Percutaneous ventricular septal defect closure in China

Percutaneous ventricular septal defect (VSD) closure in China began in the 1990s and the rapid development of this method in China is largely thanks to the R & D and clinical application of domestic VSD device. After 20 years of clinical follow up, the percutaneous technology and devices for VSD closure in China are in the forefront of the world. This article reviews the development of percutaneous VSD closure in China and the research and development of domestic devices and looks forward to the future development direction.
