AIM To summarize the clinical outcomes and experience of operations on critical congenital heart disease (CHD) in neonates and to explore perioperative management for these patients.
METHODS Two hundred and eighteen neonates with CHD undergoing operation from January 2015 to December 2019 in Fuwai Hospital were retrospectively analyzed.
RESULTS In this group, 210 cases survived and 8 cases died with a mortality rate of 3.7%. The lasting time of intubation was 2~389 (88±85)h and intensive care unit (ICU) staying time was 1~35 (8±6)d. The total duration of hospitalization was 8~42 (18±9)d.
CONCLUSION Good prognosis is obtained by active preoperative intervention, appropriate operation timing, fine operative technique and personalized postoperative treatment strategy. The team’s cooperation leads to the good outcomes.
