Infection control strategy in catheter lab during cardiac intervention surgery in epidemic period of novel coronavirus pneumonia

    • During the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) epidemic, if patients with COVID-19 have sudden acute myocardial infarction, cardiac interventional surgery must be considered in certain instances. But in the absence of negative pressure Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) interventional surgery rooms, challenges to control environmental infection in the catheterization room include prevention of spread of iatrogenic infection. Additionally, there is an essential need to cut off the transmission route and protect medical staff involved in the operation. This is a significant problem which needs immediate attention and urgent solution. In this timely manuscript, combined with relevant related published literature and emerging best practices strategies, description of how to carry out perioperative management strategies in the catheterization room during the implementation of cardiac intervention operation is reviewed.
