Abstract
Intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) is an important imaging modality able to provide high-resolution and real-time visualization of cardiac structures, which is helpful to monitor the location of catheters and recognize complications. Patients benefit from tolerance, reduction of flPatients time and lack of need for general anesthesia. For these benefits, ICE is an ideal imaging modality for procedures such as atrial septal defect closure, catheter ablation of cardiac arrhythmias, and left atrial appendage closure. In this review, we focus on the main applications of ICE in a variety of structural and electrophysiology procedures.
