Visualization analysis of atrial fibrillation electrophysiology research in recent 5 years based on CiteSpace

    •   AIM  To explore the research status, hotspots and trends in research on atrial fibrillation electrophysiology in the recent 5 years.
METHODS  The Web of Science core collection database was used as the data source and the visual analysis software Citespace5.0 R4 SE was used to visualize the studies of atrial fibrillation electrophysiology in the past five years. The authors, national/institutional distribution, journal distribution and related research were discussed.
RESULTS  Nine hundred and eighty-one articles were obtained. The author with the highest number was CHEN SA and the author with the highest co- cited frequency was Haissaguerre M. The UK, Germany, the United States and China were the main countries in the field and Duisburg-Essen University and Harvard Medical School were important institutions for the study of atrial fibrillation electrophysiology. Heart Rhythm was the most productive journal and Circulation was the most cited journal. The occurrence and maintenance of atrial fibrillation, catheter ablation and heart failure with atrial fibrillation were the hotspots. Radiation protection of atrial fibrillation catheter ablation and ion channel study of atrial fibrillation would be the leading edge of research.
CONCLUSION  The study provides a perspective for understanding the electrophysiology of atrial fibrillation and provides valuable information for atrial fibrillation electrophysiology researchers to identify potential collaborators, partner institutions, hot topics and research frontiers.
