Correlative factors of acute coronary syndrome in young male patients

    • AIM AIM To observe the main risk factors of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) in young men.
METHODS Twenty-seven male patients with ACS aged 25-35 years consisted of the ACS group and 27 age-matched non-ACS inpatients were selected as a control group. The differences of smoking history, hypertension, dyslipidemia and other risk factors were compared between the two groups.
RESULTS There were significant differences in smoking proportion between the two groups (P<0.01), while the difference of blood pressure, blood lipids level, GHbA1c and other indicators were not significant.
CONCLUSION Smoking may be the major correlative factor in young men with ACS.
