Research advances in the vascular protective effect of H2

    • Oxidative stress plays an important role in the development of cardiovascular diseases. Hydrogen gas (H2), which is the smallest molecule in the atmosphere, has the character of reduction and is easily diffused into the tissues and cells, thus inhibiting some diseases related to oxidative stress such as atherosclerosis, paraplasm of endangium, angiogenesis of cornea and angiogenesis of retina. H2, a novel bioactive molecule, sheds some new light on the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
