Relationship between fractalkine level and severity of coronary heart disease

    • AIM:To investigate the correlation between the fractalkine level in serum and the severity of coronary heart disease (CHD). METHODS: Ninety patients with CHD diagnosed by CAG, including 32 AMI patients, 36 UAP patients and 22 SAP patients were enrolled in the study. An additional 30 healthy subjects were regarded as the control group. Patients were divided into single-lesion group, two-lesion group and multivessel lesions group. Plasma levels of soluble fractalkine were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. RESULTS: Fractalkine plasma levels of CHD group were higher than that of control group. Fractalkine levels of SAP group, UA group and AMI group increased gradually. There was a significantly negative correlation between serum levels of fractalkine and coronary artery lesion counts. CONCLUSION: Fractalkine level in serum may be related with the severity of coronary heart diseases.
